JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida Ospreys continued their strong Atlantic Sun play with an 85-76 win over Lipscomb on Saturday, led by a standout performance from freshman guard Jasai Miles.
The Miami native scored an efficient 15 points on 4-6 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Miles added 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal in his 28 minutes of action.
The Ospreys improved their record to 13-10 overall and remain second in the ASUN conference standings with the win.
Miles wasted no time making an impact, knocking down a transition three-pointer to start the game. Although he only made one three, the freshman guard did most of his damage attacking and earning trips to the free throw line.
With the victory, North Florida claimed the regular season series against Lipscomb building on an impressive 13-10 record.
Miles and the Ospreys will look to keep things rolling next week with two pivotal road matches that hold major ASUN tournament seeding implications. Their ascendant freshman will likely factor heavily into the game plan going forward.
